I know Kyouichi isn't all bad, but I would be lying if I said I didn't get a bit of satisfaction seeing the tables turn on him this episode.

Yah. I have no sympathy for him since he is trying to leech out from Kasen after he kill Tetsuo anyway.

He certainly deserves it after "doing all the dirty jobs" for this organisation. But it's a sad ending for him. Though maybe Matori will save him if he gets to the scene before Kyōichi gets into that body bag. I don't think Matori will fall for it. There are just enough episodes left for him to assume the final boss duty now.

Feels to me like he didn’t have a lot of options and did what was necessary to survive and take care of his mother. I mean, based on what we’ve seen his backstory, if his father was the main provider for the family and he died while Kyouichi was still a kid, and Kyouichi was subsequently taken in by a gang, what other choice did he really have?

Not calling him some kind of upstanding human being, but there are clearly much worse people out there than him.

Sorry, but this doesn't excuse his actions in the slightest. He knew what Nobuto was up to and was gonna kill Tetsuo's daughter so that their organization could steal money from her grandparents. Yes, breaking away from a gang is extremely difficult but if he really wanted to he would've earned that money for his mother instead of killing people. Your environment may structure your personality but it is not responsible for the actions you take.

Man, I know Kyouichi was going to frame Tetsuo but I felt bad for him. His desperate pleas falling on deaf ears, they don't care whether he's truly innocent or the culprit, Kubo has settled for him to be presented to Matori due to the evidence at hand.

I'm really curious as to how Kasen was able to put the evidence in his safe. I could tell Tetsuo was listening to the sound of the code for the safe last episode, but would he be able to discern what the sounds are connected to and convey that to Kasen? And the fact that she's exercising on a roof, is she about to jump to his balcony? Or use a rope to climb down? That last scene has made me real curious lol.

All in all, Tetsuo is truly frightening with what he can come up with in such a small amount of time with all the information in hand.

In all seriousness though, I find her character to be the most interesting out of this show. I really feel as though there's way more about her background than they're letting on. I mean, for a regular middle aged housewife she sure seems to be taking all of this in stride. When they showed that flashback several episodes back of her parents' version of "not approving of her marrying him" = beat the crap out of him, it seems as though her family might not just be regular rich people. If that's the case, then perhaps Kasen is honestly just having fun with this like it's some sort of game. It probably won't actually play out that way but man, it would be an awesome plot twist if it did.

Yeah, Kasen and the whole "rich grandpa" thing is gonna be explored in Part 2.

But wished that this adaptation wasn't nerfed so hard. I can deal with the standard animation, but the violence and darker details got nerfed the hardest.

Going down a rope really isn't that hard or dangerous, if you have the equipment. That, or she's just a complete ninja and, like, swings herself in XD

Okay, fine, details. Go to climbing shop, buy one rope and two of the abseiling pieces for foot and hand and a harness. Not cheap but affordable. Take a metal rod, put it across the inside of the small roof window, loop the rope around to the outside, such that the halfway point of the rope pulls the bar into the window. Descend the rope (using both halves simultaneously) , do your thing. I'm case of auto-locking door pull the rope inside the apartment, so that all that stays behind is a metal bar on the roof. Otherwise, climb back up (the only thing that needs some actual fitness in this process).

I've gone down caves on a rope on like 5 minutes of instruction. And I'm afraid of heights. Totally doable.

The actual sounds heard in the safe opening scene were all extremely similar, don't think it's possible to distinguish them (and communicate them!)

my hunch is that they used the black light that Kyoichi asked the other gangman. Since Tetsuo changed it for a cheap one he probably kept the other able to notice fingerprints
